What is CFD trading?

CFD trading is speculating on the prices of financial instruments, usually on a short term. CFD means contract for difference. By trading CFDs, you can speculate on the price of an underlying asset without really owning it. You can also go short, meaning that you can take a "selling" position in the market and profit if the prices decrease.

What are the working hours of online trading?

The market is open from 22:00 GMT Sunday till 22:00 GMT Friday.

Can I trade outside market hours?

No. Orders can only be placed during market hours. Certain markets may be quoted outside normal trading hours. This is called 'Grey Market' pricing. But no trades can be placed at that time either.

Do I have to pay tax on my profit?

We do not deduct any taxes off your profit. Please contact local tax authorities for more information.

Can I lose more than I invest in CFD trading?

Yes. Because CFDs are traded on margin. Price changes may impact your balance greatly. Although there is a stop-out mechanism, you may end up with negative balance if the market volatility is extremely high.

Does SEA charge commissions?

Depending on the account type, some products are liable to commission. All charges will be clearly stated in your daily and monthly statements.

What is the maximum trade volume I can place?

It depends on your account type and your available margin. Find details on Market Information Sheet.

Are all my trades guaranteed?

Unfortunately, they are not. If volatility is high, prices move quickly. We may not be able to obtain a quote for you at the price you requested.
For an instant execution order, you may be re-quoted in a few seconds. For a pending order, you may experience slippage on the opening price.
